Mr. Chubigans started on the Internet when his company gave him a computer to make a web site (later this company went bankrupt). Then Mr. Chubigans bought the Half Life series together with Opposing Force. The online capabilities of the games drove him into thinking about making his own online games. Then he downloaded Game Maker 3.3. Mr. Chubigans got to work and eventually came up with his first game, Nocturnal Emission, well over 7.2 megabytes. The game was submitted to Mark Overmars to be put on his site (gamemaker.nl), but was rejected.
Mr. Chubigans needed a new idea for a new game. A visit to his local Wal-Mart gave him the idea for "The Wal-Mart SUV Parking Lot Challenge", where the objective of the game was to park in the handicapped parking lot before somebody else got to it. The game was very popular and got praise from the workers at Wal-Mart.
Eventually, a "SUV Parking Lot Challenge 2" was made, and even a "K-Mart Parking Lot Challenge." However neither were as successful as the original.
Later on, Mr. Chubigans, along with others, was asked to build a totally new site for Game Maker and in the process, they started the Game Maker Community.
Eventually, Vertigo Games was formed in late 2000.
