SPIRITS OF METROPOLIS LAUNCHED!
Yes, after more than a year of work, the game is ready to try and buy. I’ll have a more formal post later, as I’m running on Funyuns and Pepsi at the moment before collapsing at any minute, so here’s what you need to know:
You can find the official site at spiritsofmetropolis.com
Enjoy and I’ll cya after the Christmas break!
Aye Aye, Captain!
I’ll purchase it in a few hours.
tight, I’m downloading the demo now and will try it in the morning (it’s 12:34am (woah 1234) here and I’m tired)
Oi, are you crying and overwhelmed with large bouts of excitement good lad? I’d imagine so.
You have no idea how relieved I am, though I got the ol’ launch jitters now, despite the game being beta tested about three times and being delayed for four months to polish it up even more. Hah. 🙂
…and that’s why you have the patching system in place.
well I lied, I couldn’t wait to play it so I got through the tutorial of the demo as soon as it finished installing. I must say Mr. Chubigans that this is one of your finest games yet! I love the pacing, I love the look and style (even just looking at the main menu we can see how far you’ve come), and I love the simple yet thoughtful gameplay! I’ll probably play through the rest of the demo in the morning and then when all the nightmares of paying off all my christmas bills is over I’ll definitely buy this game! I wish you the best of luck in it’s success and I’m sure it will garner (wtf does that word even mean?) positive reviews! The main thing you need to focus on now is just spreading the word and advertising as much as you can!
Woo!!
I can’t read the SoM subforums though.
That’s 1 sale you’ve got! Now I’m off to play. 🙂
Here we go!
I’m going to buy this today or tomorrow – I need to secure a computer good enough to play it from somewhere…
Man! I wish I had money to buy this! As soon as I get some, I will. I’m not makin’ the Christmas deadline though. >.<
I have no way to pay you except post but I’m not allowed to do that >.<
It might be a while.
I’ll be buying it in a few hours… 🙂
Wow, that turned out to be even better than I expected. I’m buying the full version in a few days. The level of polish impressed me. There were some minor, easily fixable annoyances in the menus though:
– escape should work as a go back/pause button
– the “hitbox” of some of the buttons wasn’t the right size and shape
– the close button doesn’t work
– and finally the game should open in windowed mode as a default, as that’s how most casual players want it.
Heh, my comments have been so far nothing but complaints, but I guess there can never be enough constructive criticism. 🙂
Hey, thanks! Multiple surveys I’ve seen indicate that a fullscreen game will attract more attention from the player than a non-fullscreen game, so I went with that. Some of the other bugs can be addressed in the first patch we’ll make for the game. Thanks all for the support!
