It’s Go Time: Spirits Launches this Weekend.
Just a very quick update, but the game is ready for release this weekend. I’m still finishing the site and need to create documentation for the game, so the release is this Sunday! Till then, why not take a look at a topic I’ve created in the Game Maker Community.
I’m going to have a very special gift for all the blog readers out there when the game launches, so keep you’re eyes peeled…because it’s a limited time offer. Cya soon!
Holy crap, that’s exciting! Good luck Chubs! Still have plans for reaching that goal, or have you changed it a bit, seeing that the end of the year is nearly arrived 😛
Apologies for the double comment, but I checked out the post you’ve made, and I see the updated goal — and I know it’s totally doable!
Indeed, and on a side note, everyone needs to buy at least five copies. Because that’s like five times the fun! Woo! 😀
Hi, I’m one of those 53 who bought ShellBlast (albeit at $5) and a big fan on account of it. I liked the visual style, music, etc. just fine and really enjoyed the variety of pacing, but I can see why it might not be right for the casual audience yet.
I’ve never been hooked by a match-three, but I hope you shop your SoM around to the specialist blogs and get as much exposure as possible. Kieron Gillen (PC games journo-blogger) has written a mini-manifesto on the subject, http://gillen.cream.org/wordpress_html/?page_id=693 and can be pestered at http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/hey-prs-and-developers/ . Of course, there’s also GameTunnel, TIGSource, JayisGames and Indiegames.com. Best of luck, chubigans
Thanks frank! Those links are really helpful!
Looks like Sunday will work better, as I’m running into problems with the patching system. Nothing that a few hours of work won’t fix. 🙂
Hah, I’m probably talking to myself here but I’m too excited not to. So the patching system I was going to use…Patch Maker…actually gives anyone the source files needed for the full version of the game. Whoops. So I hit up 64digits.com and found GMLPatch300, which is an AWESOME program. Basically, once you boot up the game, it’ll check for updates…then proceed to update the game, install automatically, and restart, all without any user input. Zappix is truely the man for making this awesome, awesome app.
Neat 🙂
Woo!
T minus five hours till we kick the tires and light the fires.
I’m merely posting to know what time zone this blog is in to note the release time.
Oh, excellent. That’s only 3 more hours. 🙂
I’ll buy 5 copies! 😛
Seriously though, I can’t wait for it to come out. How much longer is it…1 hour? I can’t remember if you posted a link to the website or not(or if it’s up yet), but could you tell me where the link is? I’d like to check out the website when it’s up 🙂
The website is http://www.spiritsofmetropolis.com!
The website is done but not uploaded yet, the game is done, and I’m prepping a demo now. I think one hour is a good bet!
This is madness!
seeing that website, even with the coming soon on there, truly makes my giggle in utter joy.
Although the center container is being stretched D: Why for u_u
About thirty more minutes before upload methinks. My heart…can’t take much more…
Everything is now uploading. Two 40mb files will take a little while, but hopefully not longer than twenty minutes.
Eight minutes left it seems. OH MAN OH MAN
WEBSITE AND DEMO NOW UP! Purchase links are coming in ten minutes.
I like that website. 🙂
Yay! It’s here! 😀
What was that about 2 releases this month…?
