NEW GAME ANNOUNCEMENT: The Oil Blue
With Kablooey! finished and awaiting results in the 2BeeGames competition (at which point I’ll release it), I’m proud to announce the next new game, “The Oil Blue.”
Far away in the Pacific Ocean, in the middle of nowhere, lies a rocky cliff jutting from the surface of the rich blue sea. It’s here where you make you’re living, mining the vast, deep vein of oil-rich deposits using your trusty oil derrick. Life here is hard…work is done during the night as the day is scorchingly hot. The rocky cliff allows for zero vegetation, forcing you to shoot at passing birds and fishing during the work hours. Water is scarce, as it’s pumped through the cliff and goes through the process of desalination. Life is hard…but not without it’s rewards.
Dig through the cliffs and upgrade your equipment…heck, buy more oil production equipment when you get enough funds. Sell your barrels of oil through the market’s current trading offer…and if it’s too low, save your oil for another day when the markets are in better demand for it. Of course, sitting on all that oil doesn’t make you any money…and there are bills to be paid each day. Can you survive and become rich enough to sail away from the cliffs forever, retiring on a beautiful ocean beach side?
The Oil Blue will be out in February and more details will be available soon. A big thanks to Orioto and his amazing work as it was primary source of inspiration for this game. Woo!

Hah, whoops, will correct. And it’s a bit more involved than a Tycoon game…you’ll be actively doing stuff instead of waiting around collecting funds. 🙂
