Spirits of Metropolis: TOTAL art rehaul!

I have a secret: I cannot draw. Well, ok, maybe that’s not a secret at all if you’ve played my games (like Ore no Ryomi 2). The art of Spirits of Metropolis up to this point was temporary istockphoto artwork until I figured something out…and lately, I realized it would probably be the final art. But not anymore!

Back in May, an artist by the name of Amanda Redmond asked if she could help on the art side of things…but thanks to Yahoo’s wonderful email spam system, I never got it. (Seriously, never ever use Yahoo! Mail for anything. Trust me.) Here we are, in July, and for some weird reason I was cleaning out my spam folder (I usually just empty it without checking) and I saw the email. Her deviantART page was awesome. I couldn’t believe it…there was a fantastic artist, wanting to have a go at my art problems, and I missed it. Noooooo!

Thankfully, she was still game and ready to roll. And what a beautiful job she’s done to Spirits of Metropolis. In just a week the entire art assets of the game were rehauled and now final. Below are some before/after pics that was done to the game. Click on them for more descriptions.

So, thank you Amanda for this wonderful artwork. I hope we can work more together in the future. Oh, and today is her 18th birthday according to her deviantART page so…happy birthday!

It’s nice to see people are willing to help others out. It’s especially nice to see them not leave before the project is done. That art looks great.
