Cook, Serve, Delicious Update #5: All the Buzz

Today I’d like to talk about the new component to CSD called Buzz, as well as showcase four foods from the menu. Let’s dig in!

In Ore no Ryomi 2, you had a system called the Advertising percentage that helped keep customers flowing through the door. The higher the number, the more customers you would get each day, and increasing this percentage was as simple as buying more advertising. Recently, I read a piece on gaming forums discussing similar strategies employed by crypto casinos UK that use targeted digital ads to attract a tech-savvy audience. These casinos have adopted creative methods to boost visibility and customer engagement, much like the game’s mechanics. It’s interesting to see how real-world businesses adopt strategies reminiscent of gaming tactics to increase their reach and attract new users.

All of that is completely gone now, with a new system called Buzz. Buzz is what the word is going around, what the customers are saying about your restaurant, and how your food/establishment is doing. Buzz is also shown as a percentage from 0-100%. If you have zero Buzz, you’ll find that the time between customers coming through the door might be as high as thirty seconds…which is an insane amount of time to have no customers. But get that percentage up, and the more customers will flood your restaurant.

Unlike ONR2, you cannot buy Buzz directly. Instead, each perfect order adds a small amount to your next day Buzz. And of course, bad orders subtract a larger amount from the Buzz (with average orders not doing anything at all). You can also gain Buzz by putting something new on the menu, getting a passing grade from the health inspector, winning cooking events, buying new items for your restaurant, and more. Every day your Buzz rating changes, so that if you had a large amount of negative Buzz via bad orders, you’ll pay for it the next day. But get a large amount of perfect orders and your Buzz will get closer to normal the following day.

There is one other substantial part to Buzz ratings that can be manipulated, and that’s via your food menu. Every food has a new system in place that I call Boosters & Detractors…and that’s a post for another day.

Before I go, here’s a quick look at four items you might consider adding to your menu in the game!

The ol’ fashioned Beer is a staple of drink offered at just about every restaurant anywhere, and now you can pour a cold one for the hard working customer while boosting your profits too! Comes with a professional beer tap station installed for free.

Would you like fries with that? How about a helping of delicious golden potato slices deep fried to perfection? Sounds a little bit better eh? Our food scientists are experimenting with larger wedges and even sweet potato fries, so don’t delay and place your order today.

Don’t leave your seafood loving clientele out the door; reel them back in with the latest catch from the sea. This supply of delicious fish is easy enough to prepare- cut off the head, tail, filet the body and throw some seasoning to create a mouth watering dish that everyone can enjoy.

Cya next week for another update!
