Gamin’ Updates: June 2011
Well things have been-a happenin’ for the last few months, and I thought I’d give everyone updates on the progress behind the scenes.
For the last month or so I’ve been working on a concept for a possible iOS game, called ShellBlast Forever, pictured above. Sadly it didn’t pass the publisher review, so I won’t be going forward with it at this time. I do want to give some more details on making the game as well as the HUD design, so look for that later this month.
In better news, I’ve started a new project with the ol’ Oil Blue crew: Sara Gross and Jonathan Geer. Work is underway and I hope to announce the game by the end of the summer. It’s not as massive an undertaking as the Oil Blue was, but it’s one that I think will be a ton of fun to play.
I’m also going to be doing a final article at Gamasutra on the sales of the Oil Blue, wrapping up a full year of sales. I’ve learned quite a bit over the last few months and look forward to sharing my experiences with you all. Woo! It will go up June 22nd or so, one year to the exact day of the Oil Blue release.
Finally, I just want to remind everyone who funded Liquisity 2 via Kickstarter that there has been an important update on the game, which you should read here.
I’ve been updating quite a bit via Twitter, so be sure and follow me as we go into this crazy week of E3 madness. Now that my projects are a bit more open, I’ll blog a bit more than usual. Until next time!
Man, I wish I would have known you were doing a Kick starter campaign, I would have pitched in in an instant. However, even though you may be quick to get on the publisher train for your games, I’d wait till next year when Game maker Studio comes out so you can have your own name on the games and get a larger percent of the royalties.
