NEW GAME ANNOUNCEMENT: Liquisity 2- indiePub Competition Edition Coming August 5th!
I’m thrilled to announce Liquisty 2 (indiePub Competition Edition), a small version of a larger release coming later this year!
Liquisity 2 is the sequel to the deep sea underwater pseudo platformer released back in 2005, and now takes place in desktop aquariums as you complete objectives to light up the winning goal. This version of the game has been specifically made for the indiePub Competition, which will have 23 levels to get through. And best of all, this version of the game will be free! (a much larger version of the game will be available commercially later this year).
I’ve teamed up with the same two people who helped bring you the Oil Blue, so expect some awesome artwork and music. A public beta of Liquisity 2 will be available July 26th for everyone to download with the final Competition version coming August 5th, and I look forward to everyone throwing their keyboards against the wall due to the immense difficulty I’ll probably have to tone down before release. Muhahaha! Until then, enjoy these two teasers and be sure to download the public beta coming soon!

oh damn
i am excited
i wonder what those purple crystals are
Come people. We must practice our RAEG and keyboard smashing.
Oh my. Love the art.
Awesome.
Wait what? It’s free? 😯
My N+ PTSD is tingling…*fidget*
@Gingi
While the full game won’t be free when it comes out later this year, this 23 level version most definitely will. 🙂
YAY, my second fav of yours after SoG
What i loved about the first was its sense of being under water, and how calming the entire thing was. I think the darkness of the backgrounds and whatnot added to that feeling. (as well as the random soundtrack bites)
The above pics seem a bit too bright and lively for that calming effect
Whatever you have in mind, i’m sure it’ll be awesome
P.S, this made me redownload liquisity, and fyi, its incompatible with vista and 7, i recommend you run it through the GM Converter, some people may want to play the first one especially with the 2nd now announced
I know what you mean about the first game’s atmosphere…in fact, I made a legitimate decision early on not to have a dark sea setting mainly because most all of my game have had a dark color palette and I was ready to move onto something more colorful, hah.
This sequel is a bit more of an actual challenge and…well, for lack of a better word, “game” than the first Liquisity. It’s definitely a departure…there’s no more cannon, and the control you have over the ball is a lot more than the “heavy” controls of the first.
The overall focus of the game is to make you relax though…in fact, I suggest dying twenty times in one level to see what happens next. (Plus you can actively skip levels if they get a bit too difficult).
Actually…the light water ripple effects at the top combined with the sounds (running water, aquarium hum, soft “plunks” and bubble noises) are really soothing.
I imagine adding in J. Geer’s ambient sound bites will only make it even more so – or perfect!
Been looking at some Japanese and Chinese aquascaping…hopefully we can make things have some more “zen”? Then when you fall on spikes for the 5 zillionth time you’ll be all “AUGH! I WANT to go…go…drink some tea…and meditate…”
can You put the unfinished version of liquisity 2 in it. i realy wanna try it 😀
