Way back when I first started to make the Oil Blue, I thought I’d try out the art first to see if it was possible to do it on my own…to nail a sense of atmosphere I had in my head. It’s the year 2062, and thousands of oil refineries on tiny islands across the world have been abandoned. Some due to war/territorial conflicts with other nations, others due to lack of food and water. But most were due to the incredibly difficult livelihood of living on the ocean itself. But you and a band of explorers knows what it’s like to live through hell, and the opportunity to reclaim these abandoned oil lands as your own and make a large profit on them is just too great to pass up. It’s time to set sail and drill across the world’s oceans, selling oil and claiming islands all across the Pacific and Atlantic.

The year is 1998. Faced with an overwhelming amount of data that suggests current oil reserves would dry up by 2020 (not to mention the complete control some nations had over others in regards to oil supply), the world’s richest oil companies and world leaders joined forces together to form Universal Oil of Oceaniablue, a direct competitor to the OPEC and OECD leagues who’s control of the oil market began to slip away by 2004.
